Progress report


I'm starting to get back up to speed with the development. I have improved the orbital strike device that has long been underpowered. The explosion damage has been doubled and the missiles now explode slightly above ground which makes a big difference:

Some enemies now use varying level of predictive aiming. This means that blindly running around in circles to stay safe from projectiles will no longer always work. I will still have to do some testing to make sure the projectiles are never too hard to dodge.

As I mentioned earlier, I have been also working on converting my old Hyper Ultra Astronautics table-top arcade cabinet to Phobos Down. The work is now almost complete. I really like how to new marquee turned out:


One more thing worth mentioning is that finally managed to fix the long-standing annoying bug that caused missiles sometimes just bounce off targets without exploding. This took a lot of time and I had to dig into Godot source code to make some minor changes to the physics code. I'm still afraid I might have broken something with my change but so far things look good..

There is still a lot of work to do before the next alpha update but at least I'm now making progress again.
